Choose the right spot to hang your poster
The first thing you need to do before hanging posters with pushpins is to find the right spot. You want to choose a wall that is smooth and flat, and that is free from any obstructions like switches, outlets, or fixtures. It’s also important to consider the height at which you want to hang your poster. Eye level is a good rule of thumb, but you may want to adjust this depending on the type of poster and the location where it will be hanging.
Prepare the material
Once you’ve found the perfect spot for your poster, it’s time to prepare the materials. You will need pushpins, a level or plumb line, and your poster. If you want to make sure your poster is flat and free from any wrinkles or creases, you can lay it flat and put a heavy book on it for a few hours. This will help to straighten out any areas that are curled or bent.
Hang the poster
Now that you’ve got everything you need, it’s time to hang the poster. Begin by holding the poster up against the wall to make sure it’s positioned where you want it. Use the level or plumb line to ensure that it’s straight. Then, take your pushpins and push them into the upper corners of the poster. Make sure they are close to the edge of the poster and pushed in as straight as possible. Then, repeat this process with the bottom corners of the poster. Finally, add a few pushpins along the sides of the poster to make sure it stays secure.
Test it out
After you’ve hung the poster, give it a little test to make sure it’s secure. Gently push on the edges of the poster to see if it is loose. If it moves at all, add a few more pushpins to make sure it’s held tightly in place. If the poster is really heavy, or it’s in a high traffic area, you may want to use a more secure fastening method like sticky tack or double-sided tape.
Remove the poster
If you need to remove the poster, carefully pull out each pushpin, one at a time. If you pull them all out at once, there is a risk that the poster will tear or rip. Once all of the pushpins are removed, carefully roll up the poster and store it in a safe place until you’re ready to hang it again.
