5 Fun and Easy Games to Play with Balloons
Balloons are a versatile and affordable party decoration that can also provide entertainment for guests. Here are five fun games you can play with balloons that are easy to set up and perfect for all ages.
Balloon Pop Relay Race
For this game, divide players into two teams and set up markers at one end of the room/area for each team. Each team gets an equal number of balloons and, one by one, players must run or walk (depending on designated pace) to the other end of the room, sit on the filled balloon to pop it, run or walk back to their team, and tag the next player in line. The team to pop all of its balloons first wins.
Balloon Volleyball
Divide players into two teams and use a piece of rope or net to create a makeshift volleyball court. Players must hit the balloon back and forth over the rope or net using only their hands. The team that reaches the agreed-upon score first (usually 15 or 21) wins.
Balloon Dart Board
Hang up a large piece of butcher paper or poster board and draw a dartboard on it. Fill balloons with different point values (higher numbers are harder to pop) and tack them up on the dartboard. Players can take turns trying to pop as many balloons as possible with darts. The player with the highest total score wins.
Water Balloon Toss
This game can be played in pairs, with partners standing facing each other a set distance apart. Players take turns tossing a water-filled balloon back and forth between them, taking a step back with each successful catch. The game continues until one team has successfully reached the predetermined final distance between partners without dropping the balloon.
Balloon Freeze Dance
For this game, inflate several balloons and turn on some music. Have players dance around while holding the balloons in the air. When the music stops, players must freeze and hold their balloons where they are. Any balloons touching the ground are eliminated, and the game continues until only one player remains.
