How to clean your bass guitar
One of the most important things you can do to maintain your bass guitar is to keep it clean. Regular cleaning extends the life of your instrument; it helps prevent corrosion, rust, and dust build-up. To clean your bass guitar, you’ll need a microfiber cloth, guitar polish or cleaner, and fretboard conditioner. Begin cleaning the body and neck using the microfiber cloth. You may also use a small brush to clean areas that are difficult to reach. Next, apply the cleaner or polish to the cloth and rub it onto the body and neck of the bass. Finally, use fretboard conditioner to treat the wood.
String maintenance
Strings contribute significantly to the sound of your bass guitar. They also take a lot of beating when you play your instrument. To maintain your bass guitar’s sound quality, it is essential to replace old, worn-out strings regularly. New strings help produce better sound quality, intonation, and overall playability.
