Use a cotton swab and makeup remover
If you’ve made a mistake while applying your eyeliner, don’t worry! You don’t have to remove all of your eye makeup and start again. First, grab a cotton swab and some makeup remover. Dip the tip of the cotton swab into the makeup remover and carefully trace over the area where you made the mistake. Be gentle and take your time to avoid creating more smudges. Keep wiping until the eyeliner is completely removed, and then reapply where necessary.
Dab on some concealer
If your eyeliner mistake is small or the smudging is minimal, use some concealer to cover it up. Choose a concealer shade that is similar to your skin tone, dab a small amount onto your fingertip and apply it to the area where you’ve made the mistake. Blend it in gently until it looks even. Then, you can either leave it as is, or reapply your eyeliner over the top.
Use a white eyeliner pencil
If you’ve accidentally smudged your black or dark eyeliner and it has left a mark, use a white eyeliner pencil to cover it up. Dab on a small amount of white eyeliner, and blend it in gently with a cotton swab until the smudged area is no longer noticeable. Then, go over your white eyeliner with your regular black eyeliner to create your desired look. The white pencil will act as a primer, help your eyeliner stay intact, and make your eyes look bolder.
Apply some powder
If you’ve created a slight smudge or made a tiny mistake with your eyeliner, pat on some powder to the area to help it set and stay in place. Use a small brush and apply a little translucent powder to the smudged area. Then, re-apply the eyeliner over the top. Doing this will help keep your eyeliner in place so that it doesn’t move around or smudge even more.
Cover it up with eyeshadow
If you’ve smudged your eyeliner on your lower lash line, you can cover it up with a touch of eyeshadow. Choose an eyeshadow that is a similar color to your eyeliner, or go for a darker shade. Take a small brush and apply the eyeshadow over the smudged area, blending it in. This trick will help to make your eyes look more defined, and the smudge will be completely covered up.
