How to fix a warped mousepad?
It happens to the best of us: you’re using your mousepad and suddenly realize it’s no longer flat. Maybe it got wet or was left in the sun. Whatever the cause, a warped mousepad can be frustrating to use. Luckily, there are a few ways to fix it.
Method 1: Ironing
One way to fix a warped mousepad is to use an iron. Start by turning your mousepad over so that the back side is facing up. Set your iron to a low-to-medium heat and place a thin cloth or towel over the mousepad. Iron over the cloth, applying moderate pressure in circular motions. Check the mousepad every few seconds to ensure that it’s not getting too hot. After a few minutes, the mousepad should be flat again.
Method 2: Using Heavy Objects
If you don’t have an iron, another method is to use heavy objects to flatten the mousepad. Start by placing the mousepad on a flat surface. Then, place heavy books or other weights on top of the mousepad, making sure that they’re distributed evenly. Leave the weights in place for a few hours, or overnight if possible. When you remove the weights, the mousepad should be flat again.
Method 3: Hair Dryer
If the mousepad is only slightly warped, a hair dryer may do the trick. Start by turning your mousepad over so that the back side is facing up. Use a hair dryer on a low-to-medium heat to warm up the surface of the mousepad. As you warm up the surface, use your fingers to flatten out any wrinkles or bumps. Once you’ve warmed up and flattened the entire surface, let the mousepad cool before using it again.
With these simple methods, you can fix a warped mousepad and get back to using your computer without frustration. Whether you use an iron, heavy objects, or a hair dryer, always be careful not to damage the surface of the mousepad. And if the warping is severe or doesn’t go away, it may be time to invest in a new mousepad.
