Stirring the Chocolate Often
A common reason why chocolate burns on a fondue set is when it is left unattended for a long time. Therefore, it is necessary to actively stir the chocolate. This helps distribute the heat evenly and prevent any hot spots that might burn the chocolate. Use a wooden spoon to stir the chocolate in a circular motion to ensure that melts evenly.
Avoid Water Contact with the Chocolate
One of the critical tips to prevent chocolate from burning in a fondue set is avoiding any contact with water or steam. Chocolate reacts differently to steam, since it might cause it to seize or separate. Therefore, ensure that the pot is dry before adding chocolate. Additionally, avoid any water contact while stirring the chocolate.
Add a Little Oil
Adding small amounts of oil might also prevent chocolate from burning in a fondue set. A few drops of oil can make the chocolate smoother and affect its consistency. This makes it easier to stir and prevents it from sticking to the inside of the pot, reducing the likelihood of a burn.
