Check the Label and Sort by Material
Before diving into the cleaning process, carefully read the label on the soft toy for any specific cleaning instructions. Different materials may require specific cleaning methods, so it is important to sort your soft toys accordingly. Common materials for soft toys include polyester, cotton, plush, and synthetic blends.
For machine-washable soft toys, sort them into two groups based on colorfastness. Darker and more vibrant colored toys should be separated from lighter ones to prevent color bleeding during washing. For non-machine washable toys or those with delicate embellishments, consider spot cleaning or hand washing instead.
Vacuum Thoroughly
Prior to cleaning, it is essential to remove loose dirt, dust, and debris from the soft toy’s surface.
