Gather materials
The first step in turning a Mason jar into a soap dispenser is to gather all the necessary materials. You will need a Mason jar of your desired size, a soap dispenser pump – you can purchase one or repurpose one of a used soap dispenser – and a drill. You may also want to include some decorative elements such as ribbon or paint, depending on the desired final look.
Drill the lid
Once you have all the materials ready, the next step is to drill a hole into the Mason jar lid. Start by turning the lid upside down, choose a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the base of your soap dispenser pump, and carefully drill through the center of the lid. It is recommended to use a steady hand and to drill slowly to avoid cracking the lid.
Insert the pump
After drilling the hole in the lid, gently insert the soap dispenser pump into the hole. Check to ensure that it fits and does not wobble. If it does, consider using a smaller drill bit or using hot glue to secure the pump in place.
Decorate the jar (optional)
If you wish to decorate the Mason jar, now is the time to do so. You can use ribbon, paint or any other decorative element of your choice to make the soap dispenser more personalized.
Fill with soap
The final step is to fill the Mason jar with your desired liquid soap. Screw the lid back onto the jar, and you now have a functional and stylish soap dispenser.
