Gather your materials
To make a Mason jar nightlight, you’ll need the following materials:
- A Mason jar
- Battery-operated LED fairy lights
- A hot glue gun
- A drill and drill bit
- Decorative items (optional) like ribbon, stickers, etc.
You can find most of these items at any craft store or online.
Drill a hole in the lid
Using your drill, carefully make a hole in the center of the Mason jar lid. The size of the hole should be slightly larger than the width of the LED lights.
Insert LED lights into jar
Remove the stopper from the LED lights and feed the lights through the hole in the lid. Gently push the lights down into the Mason jar until the battery pack reaches the bottom.
Secure LED lights in place
Take your hot glue gun and apply a small amount of glue around the hole on the underside of the lid to secure the LED lights in place. Be careful not to let the glue touch the lights themselves.
Decorate your Mason jar
If you want to add some decorative elements to your nightlight, now is the time! You can add ribbon or stickers to the outside of the jar or even fill it with small decorative items like sand or sea glass. Just be sure not to cover the battery pack or the on/off switch.
That’s it – you now have your own Mason jar nightlight! These are great for adding a cozy touch to any room in your home or even as a cute gift for someone special.
